Collector's Edition or Regular TES:Oblivion??

I'm a long time fan of the TES games. Played through Arena on a P75 w/16MB RAM running Win3.11 (I think I used 386Max to manage my memory so that I could actually play it since it required the usage of the CDRom at the same time as everything else).

I waited and waited for Daggerfall to come out (anyone who followed the release of that installment should not be the least bit surprised by the revision of Oblivion's release date) and remember how disappointed I was when I realized it was unplayable out of the box...the 60MB patch took a loooooong time to download with the 14.4Kbps modem I was running at the time but in the long run it was worth it.

Morrowind/Bloodmoon/Tribunal was a huge step up for the series and I played through it on both XBox and PC (several times on the PC actually...much more fun with keyboard and mouse imho).

So, as you can see I'm a die hard fan of the series and as such am very tempted to buy the TES: Oblivion Collector's Edition instead of the regular version since they both seem to be releasing at the same time (I'm predicting a June release although I'd love to be able to play it by the end of February).

I'm wondering what all you other fans of the series are going to buy and why? You see I'm not sure if I can justify the extra $20 for the Collectors Edition so am looking for some good reasons why I should or shouldn't.

Thanks,

HoLo

This is probably a bit unfair because I'm not a die-hard fan but the info I've seen on the CE seemed a bir underwhelming, so standard will do for me.

Another die-hard fan here; I'll play whichever arrives first (we own a small HW/SW store and ordered both versions, anyway).

If I see the collector's edition, I'll buy it. However, it seems such editions only make it to the UK in very limited numbers, so I'll probably be getting the normal one.

Normal version is enough to satisfy me. Those collector's versions of games don't offer any more real game-content anyway, so sensibly thinking its just huge waste of euros to get a more expensive version. They just come in a better-looking packet with few neat extras.

Naturally if it happens that the collector's edition is released first, i might get one

I've got the Collector's Edition Pre-Ordered and will go ahead and get it, but if I had it to do over again I'd just get the regular version.

I really thought that the CE would have something more than an Imitation Gold Septim and the "Pocket Guide To The Empire" to set it apart. Thankfully it's only $10.00 more than the regular version, otherwise I'd be on the phone changing my order.

Anyway, I guess the Gold Septim will go with my Ordinator figure from Morrowind.

I ordered the special edition just for the possible extra manual(s).

Ten years ago I bought ultima underworld and I got all this neat stuff with it (manuals, maps, guides, etc) even though it was a regular edition. Nowadays Im lucky to get one small manual if I pay extra. Maps I can only dream of. Damn I hate pdfs.

Collectors Edition all the way for the XBOX360.

Huge fan of the ES series, played every game but the NGAGE one, and tempted to buy a NGAGE just to play it.

Cant wait to see what is in store for us in Oblivion.
