dont know if this game has been mentioned
but in any case im playing Blade of Darkness at the moment .. pretty cool game .. way more linary then gothic but has some nice gore
and should live up to the task of killing a few days before G3

So long as you take into account that it isn't a RPG but a nice hack-n-slash action game. I love the music - still have the theme on my iPod. I only discovered it because DW Bradley referenced the combat system in an interview as one of the models for combat in Dungeon Lords. Loads of fun - there is some visceral satisfaction in decapitating someone and using their head to beat the next enemy to death ...

ture its way more of a hack n' slash then an RPG .. but still you do play a part in a storie .. well kinda .. but then again that would make most games RPG's except maybe the good ol' snake game

I played Rune and Blade of Darkness pretty much back-to-back, and the contrast was amazing. In Rune, I kept waiting for the game to start, for me to get somewhere to do something. Then I realized that the journey was the game ... in Blade of Darkness you are engaged in a pretty fair little story that flows along with you.

true but i think thats because rune is more about telling stories from the northen mytholigy (which they got totaly wrong by the way) then getting down to the action .. it does have some nice moments though and i like the fact that its one of the very few games where you carry some of the weapons you besides the one your currently useing
