yes, I am sure it will be fine. Although a G-force 3 will make it look pretty sweet. |

I've read somewhere on the Morrowind forums that the minimum processor speed will be around 500 MHz. It's just a rumour though...
But since there are already games on the market that ask for a 1GHz cpu or better (Max Payne - Daoc) I'm pretty sure that Morrowind will fall in to that category.
My guess is that with a cpu somewhere around 1 GHz, a Geforce 2 or similar videocard and 256 to 512 MB of memory you will have a powerfull enough machine to run Morrowind smoothly.
It's just my opinion though, but I'm guessing I'm not too far off
I mean, the game is due for release spring 2002 and how many gamers will have a 2GHz machine on a GeForce 3 by then?
Not many me thinks. |

Never read the minnimum requirements.
If theres anything I learned in computer history is the preferred system requirements should be treated as the minnimum!!!!!

Okay I just have to respond to this, I don't know where the 500 computer came from but that will not run Morrowind. All the specs that have been mentioned are 800+ with geforce 3 required to run all the features. So I'm very doubtful a 500 is going to do much to run it. Mind you the geforce 3 is the only system requirement that has been mentioned. |

It has to be a GF3( any version) a GF4(4600,4400, 4200) or a Radeon 8500 to get the special water effects because its part of directx 8's T&L support which only those cards have.
Other video cards will still play the game fine but without the cool realistic looking water...

Some or maybe all GeForce 2 cards have hardware T&L. I know my Laptop GeForce2Go does. |

They do, but the 3's and 4's have a newer type, thus allowing nice water effects. |

My love of water to swim around in during RPGs is not strong enough to put my wife through a manslaughter charge when she kills me for finding out I blew several hundred dollars to see 'cool water'.

Oh yeah about the specs I think one of the devs said in IRC that he was running a P3 600mhz 256 ram Geforce 2 and was playing it fine albeit with some of the graphics options turned down...

Don't forget there is always the option of buying an Xbox and getting the Xbox version if upgrading your computer will end up costing more. |

The key phrase is "to run all the features." The game should still be able to function with a less powerful machine than the one you gave as an example,it just won't be as pretty. |
