I will not repeat those titles already in the main list - yes, BG, and yeah - P:T!!! But I can't help nominating another two quite opposite games. That is Morrowind and Icewind Dale. I like Morrowind, and I love Icewind Dale. I cannot choose between IWD and IWD2, though... Let it be the first part. Few people like IWD, and I don't think it'll make it to the master list, but hey! - doesn't matter! |

Well, I wasn't going to reply at first, because I have to choose Planescape: Torment as one of my top three and so many of you have already mentioned it. Also, I think the original Icewind Dale was a great game and places in my top three, but I didn't have the courage to stand up to the expected harrassment I'd get about that. But stanthony stood up to the naysayers and proclaimed it among his choices, so I felt obliged to come out of the closet and give him some support. And I'm also a big fan of Arena, the first Elder Scrolls RPG. Oh, I can just imagine the heat I'm gonna take for that... _________________ Death: Peace, at last |

My favorites are
fallout 1
wizardry 8
Divine Divinity
Im playing planescape torment right now, and it is my favorite IE game but I dont think it will make my top 10.
Those first two games fall under the endless strategic combat sort of games that some people dont like. The last one is arcade combat but adds the fallout or baldurs gate conversation tree sort of thing to it.
Conversation with npcs in wizardry 8 sucks its made sort of retro to old wizardry games. |

(whatch how many people disagree with two out of these three...)
These are my sincere top 3 favorites:
1. Ultima VIII: Pagan
2. Gothic
3. Icewind Dale II _________________ I don't do autographs. |

1. Daggerfall
2. Planescape: Torment
3. Morrowind
4. Divine Divinity
5. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn
6. Baldur's Gate
7. Might and Magic: World of Xeen
8. Bard's Tale
9. Eye of the Beholder
10. Ultima
I'd place Fallout, Gothic, or Ultima VII on this list, but that would be hearsay. These are the best RPGs I've actually played.
I also would have placed Morrowind #1 if it had more detail of Daggerfall or if the NPCs were less two dimensional. Morrowind with certain mods definitely is #1 hands down.
I didn't put NWN because of the dreadful single player experience. Multiplayer was okay, but I never could get into it. _________________ Ha, Ha, Ha.... Oh, you were SERIOUS?

No, I had it as #10. Doesn't that count?
My mistake... don't worry, I am keeping track, honest.
I'm just about to update the list again. It's pretty huge now, so I guess it'll soon be time to start the poll. Based on number of nominations, PS:T and Gothic are currently top dogs; it'll be interesting to see if that changes with the poll being restricted to one vote each.
I still don't know how many poll options I can have, if thre maximum is too low I'll have to drop a few games from the list, but I'll try to keep that to a minimum; games with only one nomination are obviously most likely to be dropped, but if a game has only one nomination but was someone's no.1 choice, then I'll to keep it in, since that person will likely vote for it in the poll.
So... what about combining games as one choice? Lets try and settle on something we're all happy with. Personally, I think UUW1 and 2 should count as one choice... and most people who mentioned a BG game have mentioned 1 and 2 together, so maybe they should be combined?
My reasoning here is that splitting the votes between two very similar games is kind of like splitting hairs; the result will be that the vote total for each game will be reduced and the final outcome will not really be representative of our views.
What do you think? Good idea? Which games do you think this should apply to, if any? As well as the Underworlds and BG's, there are a few other games that may need combining, but I don't know enough about them, so I'll need your feedback for these:
Icewind Dale 1&2
Fallout 1&2
Any parts of the Wizardry or M&M series
suggestions welcome |

How about combining the three main Elder Scrolls games together: Arena, Daggerfall, and Morrowind? _________________ Death: Peace, at last |

As someone without a console and who wouldn't have one given, consider the first stone cast!! _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!
