Game Crash after loading a savegame! Help!!! |
|
Hey everybody....got a big problem here. The last couple of times i have tried to play Gothic 2, it has crashed on me. Ill be able to get into the game and load a savegame, but as son as the loading screen comes up before the game begins, it crashes and gives me an error message that says: "File:err:_2:Cant find File:_work\Data\Sound\HMW_2H_orcsword-)1.MRM Code 255" It happens everytime, ive tried restarting my computer and even reloading the game, but there is no change. Any help or comments would be great!!! Thanks!! |

Did you try to load different savegames? If not, perhaps the one savegame you're trying to load has gone corrupt (which unfortunately happens at times... which is why it is prudent to save often, and in different save slots). _________________ Jaz |

Try scanning the saved game with an anti-virus program....stupid thought but you never know with the stupid computers. _________________ I come from space. From outer space! |

Unlikely. You can try to puzzle the components of an intact save into it. Since I have never had a corrupt save - except one quicksave which was obviousy my own fault- you should be alerted that there must be a reason why this save has been corrupted. Did you read the FAQ, use a virus scanner and kill spyware? _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

The same thing is happening to me!
I get "B.VFILE Err-2 Can't find file-work/data/sound/hum-head-thief mmb code 255"
This happens practically every other save but the file that it can't find is not always the same one. It is getting to the point where I have to go back so often it not worth trying to play.
I do have anti-virus, Spybot S&D and Adware, so its not virus, trojan or spyware related I believe it is a Gothic 2 bug and needs to be fixed ASAP please! |
