I like the look of the game but I fear two things:

1) The system requirements (judging by Sony's other MMORPG Everquest)

2) the World will be populated by 3000 Jedi. (If they use the PnP rules about Young Jedi and Fallen Jedi that could put a few powergamers off though )

If there are a lot of request for such a board, there will be one if the find moderators to control that board.

don't even know the game.

They say they will not be imposing artificial limits on Jedi numbers but that the way of the Jedi will be hard - I think they underestimate exactly how much time people are willing to put into MMORPGs.

Unfortunatley at the time when the game is set Jedi are rare so hopefully they will implement all the negative (such as a standing bounty by the Empire and the need to be trained by another Jedi to make training easier) but who knows I may be wrong and lots of people may want to play rogues and the like (personally I want to be a Jedi so I can play my PnP character once I have upgraded my computer )

I am not gonna give quotes, but if you read the SWG Developers Digest you will discover that your worries have already been addressed by the developers. This same topic has been discussed, shredded, and plastered over on the SWG boards, and I am not about to care anymore about it since its all in great hands and rest assurred there will not be a thousand Jedi Knights. So if you still dont believe me, go investigate it. The site is there.

Sorry Ammon - I didn't mean that to sound like I was argueing with you. I read the SWG boards on a regular basis (fingers crossed for Beta) but I'm concerned about the number or hardcore MMORPG players out there that can find their way around any system.

Having said that I really do think this game will be great and hope that when it's released it lives up to everything we hope it will (Hell even if it's only 50% as good as they promise it will still be the best thing out there )

I haven't heard that much about it... so I'll vote no.

I voted no because I hadn't looked into the game, and I'm not a big starwars fan. But after going to the site I'd like to change my vote, the game looks really good.

i am abstaining from this vote. the reason: suggesting someone is moron because they aren't willing to play sw for whatever reason is just ridiculous. i think your poll is unfairly biased in favor of sw...hence it isn't much of a poll. i don't care for the mmorpg's simply because of the cost involved. i have to buy the software and then pay to play it? umm...i don't think so. quite possibly if they dropped the charge down to a reasonable sum for the upkeep of their servers i would be inclined to play. however, i think mmorpg companies get too fat of the monthly charges associated with their software. so, thanks but no thanks.

1. You're not doing anybody a favour by spreading hype like this.

2. If devs specifically say that something in the game will be rare, that means that people will want it, which means there will be demand for it, which means that the most unscrupulous people will spend that much more time trying to obtain it by whatever means necessary. If for no other reason, than to sell it on EBay to some duffus moron that thinks he's cool only because he has a high level rare character. As if though respect can be bought with $1000.

The more the devs say you can't get it, the more people will get it. Except "normal" people will be prevented from getting it, and "shady" characters will get it more than not. Such is life of MMORPGs.
