Is this the error?
XD3D_InitPerDX: Can't create D3DX context! Error. DDERR_UNSUPPORTET
Open the gothic.ini and change the resolution to something else with 32 bit. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Let me guess,
You've got a Radeon 8500 or 9100. I get the same message if i use catalyst driver newer than 3.9. I've searched all the internet for a solution but there is none. The only solution is
a) buy another GFX card (but no 8500 or 9100)
b) don't use catalyst drivers newer than 3.9 |

He didnīt get back to this thread. This probably means his problem is solved and he is one of the 90% assholes out there who donīt say thank you. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Yeah, probably. But he's still around so perhaps he will reply later on. |

I'm getting the same error message...and yes, I do have an shitty Radeon 9000.
Think I'm going to try to roll back the drivers and see what happens. |

Can't say I have ever had that problem with my 9100, though it is definately time to replace it and up my ram to a Gig. this X-mas will be for meeeeee!!
I guess I have been lucky so far with my 9100 (with newest drivers) it has performed really well the entire time I have used it.

Welcome to our forum.
The solution I posted above is worth a try. Itīs confirmed thereīs a fair chance it will work. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Thanks Gorath.
I tried everything suggested but with no luck. Funny thing is I just finished playing Gothic 1 with no problems whatsoever.
Anyway, I think I'll just hold on to the game until I update my system for Gothic 3 and Oblivion...which should be soon.....hopefully. |

I changed the zVidResFullscreenBPP from 16 to 32 in Gothic.ini
Everything works fine now. |
