you guys are a little behind.
Me and 4 of my former students have been working hard on the G2 walkthrough for 5 days now. But it still needs finishing touches. we have pages for every single quest given in the game. pages to find every item to be found. and pages for really everything in the game from NPC's to a snapper found in the mountains.

I will gladly send the first edition to Gorath once we are done(Should be in about 5 hours).

but Gorath i will only give it to you if we get your word that you will keep it in the exact same state from when we send it. no upgrades or additions.

thanks, i now have to get to work.

Then perhaps I wont be needed to write the FAQ this time.
I have more or less felt obliged to write a FAQ for G2 ever since I completed the first one. If you guys pull it off at the scale of what I had in plan, I guess I wont be needed to write the FAQ this time around. If not, then you know what I will do my first week on vacation

I always felt that a "Rush Start"/"Beginners Strategy" is something every RPG FAQ needs. The most important thing is to be able to plan a character early in the game, making sure to not waste opportunities that has an larger impact of the outcome of the character.

Best Regards
JemyM

Jemy, Iīve received a link to another FAQ. Itīs ~50% finished by now. After (only) a brief look it seems to be pretty good. So you are not really needed this time. I suggest you only do it if you want to go for the real thing.

ziBzi, I would like to have a look at your walkthrough. If you donīt want to have it changed this is okay. Of course I canīt promise you weīll post it on the site, but I wonīt change it or give it to somebody outside of the GothicDot staff.

Thanks to the people who offered their help. Please stay tuned till I had the chance to have a look at ziBziīs walkthrough.

English walkthrough here http://www.the-spoiler.com/RPG/Piranha/gothic.2.1.html

It's not very extensive but will do for the paladins for those that really can't wait till something better comes along

Well, this other FAQ may be OK. But, does it spell out all possible quests you can do for XP before commiting to a guild? Does it tell where to get good weapons, items, etc, early in the game? These were the things I liked most about JemyM's Gothic 1 FAQ. (Which, by the way, I thought was excellent!)

If it's good, then I guess it'll be OK. But I have to admit, I was looking forward to seeinng what JemyM would come up with.

Well, it feels a bit awkward to NOT writing the FAQ I intended to. Specially after planning to do it for a year, and unlocking the entire summer vacation to do it.

Best Regards

That walktrough just tells about how to be a citizen (apprentice) and then:

"Speak to Andre and ask about paladins, join the Militia. Ask for a weapon and
you will be told to find Peck, ask also for an assignment. At the end, don't
put on your uniform yet."

I really tought you needed to find out about the thieves.
Another strange/ stupid thing is:

"Lares, but don't follow him to the farm (you do this only if you want to
become a Mercenary)."

He will miss some exp then.

This one looks realy good (as far as it is complete).
I would suggest a two step plan;
- publish a faq based on the formum questions for newbie players of Gothic 2, focusing on gameplay issues and chapter one problems. Best published within a week or so. (if you need a hand, tell me)
- this wil gain you some time to finish/get/gather a complete walkthough. Hopefully the one who makes the walkthough above is willing to let you publish it in pdf and anhance it with the apr. maps and screenshots...

If you need a hand, just let me know; you know where to find me

Wow. This walkthrough is really good so far. Well written and organized. Very detailed. I wish the author best of luck in getting it finished.

Good work! It's really good faq but need some improvement =) (e.g bows section, loots section . I know it's the only half of the real faq, but I want to mention them .))
