nah, old key config sucked
they finally got with the 20th century with the new config.

Holding (Action) key + (direction) key just to move the simplest of items from chest to inventory...wtf was that?

Oh and combat? dont even get me *started* on the combat of G1
Lets put it this way, my 2nd-final time playing gothic, all I went was archer

I like the G1 controls better.

@Shrapnel: You don't need to press action+forward now, just action for everything except fighting.

I'm using the good ol' Gothic 1 controls, that small writing is even more annoying than when you used to post in red

I use the old keys due to my "full gothic games"(highly recommended that you try).

Maylanders' Full Gothic Game: Start out playing Gothic 1, and then use the same class, go for the same things(axes/swords/bows/crossbows/1H/2H and so on). This way you play the entire story with the same character. Makes it easier to "live" the game.

but what the point of having to choice to choose a different guild thingy if you play through the whole game as an old camp guard

Gothic2 controls are much more comfortable to use, although, don't try to go into battle with somebody on your side, or you'll just end up beating him as well. Not on purpose, offcourse... That's my only stricture.

Gothic 2 controls all the way
they simplified things alot, more mouse driven... and Im wondering if anyone else has noticed this... I think its a bug with the new controls
Just hit attack repeatedly, and try moving the directions... your attack will come out but when you move itll instantly be restarted... so you get like 3 attacks in the same second....
