Spellforce Cover Art revealed

The cover art for the German sales version of Spellforce has been revealed; while following the sex sells principle, I find thisone rather appealing <a href="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/imageview.php?dir=gallery/699/Artwork/&name=spellforce cover.jpg" target="ImageView"><img src="http://newspics.rpgdot.com/gallery/699/Artwork/tn_spellforce cover.jpg" border=0 align=right alt="Display full image"></a>

Nice design, colorful.

Sexy women on the box? ... seen plenty of those.

with various games on shelves, surely it won't to hurt to have nice looking female with nice ass on the box facing every customers that passing by. At least to keep their attention for 3-5 seconds longer (to take a closer look), or more potential for the customers to pick up that box to read through the game features, then probably buy it...

The big question is -- why should we care about this game? Why is it getting such big coverage at RPGDOT when all it is is another RTS. Sure, it claims "RPG elements", but we all know what that means. Let's face it, its just a strategy / empire building game at its core. I thought RPGDot's charter was the coverage of computer role playing games?

I think the policy is that if a game has roleplaying elements, such as units that gain experience, then its considered RPG 'enough' to warrant coverage. I dont have a problem with it.

Nice cover. Clearly better than this ugly Knightshift thing some time ago.

Actually Ammon777, the policy here on rpgdot is: if you have enough posts on your account and you are speaking for a special game, it will be covered here.
If you dont have enough posts your wont be heard.

eg: UFO:Aftermath NOT on rpgdot.
Spellforce, Knightshift, Warcraft etc. ON rpgdot.

wrong Vid, we cover EVERY RPG, and games which have RPG elements...

We totally missed Freelancer for example, and if UFO Aftermath has RPG elements, we will add it too...

Nice attitude, Garrett. But i fear you could be alone with this thinking.

Rend clarified the the UFO situation in that thread. It will not be covered unless there is significant community demand. So far I would say only a few people care for it.
(And yes, Iīve heard a lot of good things about the latest UFO.)

Elkston, there is no 'big coverage'. Itīs either 'news coverage' or 'no news coverage'.

If I remember correctly Freelancer was covered because Rend wanted it. This leaves the question open why X2 - The Threat isnīt covered. Itīs as much no RPG as Freelancer, and much closer to the original Elite.

Some time ago we had a long discussion in CRPG General with the aim to come up with a numerical rating to classify 'How much RPG' a game is. Then we could set a limit and wouldnīt need any discussion at all. It turned out more complicted than expected ...

Hi Elkston,

I think, in Spellforce you can collect various items, gain experience, talk to some people, found a party (with other heros) and (o.k., o.k.) play some little RTS parts...

Is this a RPG or not ?!
