bug with lord hagen

So my game is running fine up till now. No crashes, no bugs, no nothing. But now im at the part end of chapter 3 where i get benet out of jail. I paid the secretery the 2000 gold for the book and read it but now when i talk to lord hagen it's the same 3 options as it was at the begining of the chapter"why do you think bennet is guilty" "i belive bennet is guilty" and something else i can't remember. I've looked up guides for this and it i havnt skipped any steps. I even tried to get around this by using the storyteller cheat and skipping to chapter 3 in a new game but i lose all my quests data. I also tried using the PAL_200_HAGEN command but nothing happend. I've loaded and restarted to try that but still nothing. This is a quicksave game to and the next closest save to the one I have now is 13 hours differnce in play time. Someone please help me, if i don't get this fixed i fear i will never have the will to complete it

edit: im useing gothic 2: notr gold edition v1.30 if that helps

Welcome to our forum!

The last info is incorrect. You´re either playing TNotR or you´re playing v1.30, which is the latest German version without the add-on.

It sounds like a damaged savegame if not even the story helper works.

The correct version number is displayed on the menu screen. It shouldn´t make a difference, though. Relying on a save procedure not even the devs consider stable was no good idea.

actually maybe the book he gave me wasn't the right book. it looks like the trade income of the city with this format

ship "maria"
crew:4124
city:1231
captain: 7424
personal:1231

and then the hero says something like "looks like "FRANCIS" has been poketing money on the side." wich is kinda odd because the secretaries name is something like coro- or something and doesn't sound anything like francis but that is the book. also the guide i looked at called it a diary. can you verify i have the right book?

well when your right, your right. can't argue with that but i used to save normaly everytime i was done playing. id just quicksave when i was goin against a tuff fight or wanted to see what would happen if i attakced this npc. Or even if i could survive this jump.

His name is Cornelius. I don´t know if he gave you the right book. I played TNotR 2.5 years ago.

Cornelius is easy to remember. I bet I´ve forgotten most of the other names. Lares is an old friend from the first Gothic.

You should also post your problem in the JoWooD and WorldofGothic forums. Tripples your chances.
