Hi all
In my opinion Wizardry 8 is by far one of the better RPGs these days. Compared to all those hack and slay "RPGs" i can just applaud to Wizardry.
I played Wizardry 7 before and i was totally fascinated by this game. But i heard rumors that Sir-Tech is about to die? Is it true that so few people bought the game that it wasnt even published in Europe (german version)? And now i have seen the game beeing sold for 4$ together with a computer magazine LOLz. That hurts hehe.
Now to the game itself:
I am playing it for like 3 weeks now and i still cant get the point in using a class like valk or samurai. Since they added the berseker ability to warriors in Wizardry 8 they do by far more meele dmg than any other hybrid class. And its much more easier to keep a warrior alive than a hybrid. Exspecially vs. critters such as Nessie it was a pain to keep my samurai alive while the warrior did just fine taking the beating. The only hybrid tank beeing useful would be the Lord in my opinion since he can cast useful spells such as Guardian Angel, Heal wounds,... So gemme info plz. Maybe i am handling my samurai wrong.
thx(t'rang > Umpani)

First off, welcome to the boards.
Now then...
Sir-Tech is already dead. The company name is being maintained for legal purposes but the business has no employees and no assets.
The biggest advantages of the samurai are that it's the only hybrid that can cast mage spells and critical hits. The critical hits are pretty nice to get.
The valk can do a ton of damage with a good polearm, but overall that class isn't that great, IMO. The "cheat death" bonus isn't that great. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.

Welcome,
sadly Sirtech seems to be really dead. But still I hope I'll see Wizardry 9 one day. |
