Hello all, I am running a PII processor with 500MhZ, 327Mb of Ram, Geforce 2 MX Pro graphics card and an old peice of junk sound card. I played through gothic with almost minimum amount of detail. I want to increase the overall detail in the game without sarcificing performance and playability. Any suggestions? |

#1. Shut down all running programs except Systray and Explorer
#2. Try to increase different settings to see what works best
#3. Beware of the view.. 100% is enough, and going above that severly decreases performance - if the game runs perfectly with high detail, increase it, but otherwise, don't..
Good luck.. |

You could try lowering the view distance some more..
80%, even 60% is more than enough, and it will give you the feeling as if there was a fog
Btw, the game should be running smoothly with high details on such a configuration (at least it did for me). |

Thanks for the replies, guys. I just downloaded the german Gothic II demo, so I don't play much of Gothic I anymore. |
