First I bought X2-The Threat. Than, it turned out it is better to play this game with joystick. I haven’t had a joystick till now so decided to bye one. It had to be my second Christmas present. Later, the f… EGOSOFT gave me my next “present”-my brand new first and only stick (Logitech Wingman 3d with FF) didn’t work. Why? 10x to the company mentioned above. So I waited for the patch. Today I d/l it and my Wingman works! Finally!!! So “1 present is not enough” 10x you EGOSOFT!

From the looks of it, RpgDot is going to have a bunch of Jedis running around here pretty soon!

I bet BioWare employees got big bonuses this year='.'=
KOTOR is a great game, even tho some of the trite p.c. dialogue makes me literally roll my eyes fom time to time. Im just about sold on Jedi Academy already. I've always pretty disappointed by games based on movies, finally there are some Star Wars titles that are worth investing in.

Jaz: Soul Caliber II is such a spectacular looking game! Its one of the scant few console games that impressed upon me the worthiness of consoles in some cases.Did you ever get a chance to play that "One Must Fall:Battlegrounds" sequel?

(Missing: one fascinating response, destroyed single-handedly by Toshiba's poor excuse for a power saver applet. "Toshiba: we sell computers, but we sure as Hell can't add up!")

Anyway. These days I don't "do" computer stuff as gifts, as hardware rapidly becomes a thing to curse and software is tossed aside sooner than the giver would think - I don't like that happening to a gift.

But, I did find a three for £10 deal in Game that I couldn't pass up. I spotted Shogun: Total War in the deal, so needed to find two other titles to justify its purchase. I picked Discworld Noir as I'd played a demo of the first and loved it, and Theme Park World, as Theme Park is one of my all-time favourite games, but it runs too fast on anything over a P200.

I started with Discworld, which is excellent. I'm playing it on my laptop, but have been very busy over Christmas so laptop time has been mostly devoted to work - I hope to pick it up again in the New Year. Catching a seasonal bug meant I had an excuse to use my desktop machine, so I gave TPW a go. Wow, that game is fantastic! Wrapped in a sleeping bag, I started playing at about 10am this morning and only stopped at 7.30pm when the computer locked up. I'll probably play part of tomorrow as well.

Shogun is still in its box...

@ cfmdobbie:

I'm actually a huge Discworld fan, having read all of the novels at least five times. Do you or does anyone know of a way to get a copy of Discworld Noir in the United States?

@Sam: I didn't play OMF battlegrounds, unfortunately. Any way, my collection of beat'em ups is quite substantial, and even though I have a few for PC I just like the console beat'em up games a lot better.
SSCII is about as breathtaking as Soul Blade was at its time, and that one was pretty impressive. No. 2 in the sequence, SoulCalibur I was pretty good-looking, too, but the Dreamcast just wasn't my favorite console.
Right now my favorites still are DOA3 and SCII, the Tekken franchise didn't live up to my expectations . Too bad, I loved the series, but I'm pretty mad at them that they got rid of Jack.

I got Combat Mission:Barbarossa to Berlin (fantastic ww2 strat game if anyone's interested... see www.battlefront.com), Medal of Honor Rising Sun for PS2(good game, but I just can't play FPS on a console!), and I bought myself AoWII The Wizard's Throne (had played the demo long ago, found it on ebay for $10). I'd have to say CM:BB is getting the majority of my time thus far. Have to play it hard this week; a week from today school starts and I'm taking 20 hours!!!

I didn't get any software games for Christmas, but I did get a few French porn DVD's from my cousin in France.

You can't go wrong with French porn. I didn't get any software but I did get a new 19" monitor.
