Gothic 3: Package and merchandise Interview @ World of Gothi |
|
World of Gothic continues their interview with Gothic 3 Producer Stefan Berger and Community Manager Johann "Ivan Ertlov" Ertl from JoWooD with several "painful questions" about Gothic 3's package and special edition.
To comfort you all; no producers or community managers were harmed during this interview.

Although they don't give away much, it seems as if they have some big surprises for us.
From Gothic 2 many Special Editions appeared late after release. Are there any news about a soundtrack-cd from KaiRo? Is it possible, that a Collectors Edition will be delivered with a map? Paper or real cloth?

Stefan: A map ? Hey, great idea... But why do you talk about a Special Edition and not the Standard Edition? OOOPPPPSSSSS Shouldn't talk too much...
Soundtrack CD -> Kai creates so lovely music... it should be on a CD You will be able to buy after the Gothic release a normal Edition, a Special Edition and much, much more goodies for Gothic 3 -> and surely you won´t be able to oversee Gothic at your local dealer
-> we will handle this. But that's still a secret *againtoomuchtalking*

You will be able to buy after the Gothic release a normal Edition, a Special Edition ...
omg. So first he says a map will be in the standard edition ? praise him praise him , the give the humble gamer a map - it's a shame this is even worthy to mention nowerdays.
On the other hand, there will be the infamous "SE". Pay more - get what you deserved anyway ...
I think i will give up to hope they ever release a game nowerdays with proper attachments and a nice package as a "standard edition"

I get the impression there was a lot of "tongue in cheek" teasing going on in this interview, so wouldn't take too much of what was said to heart. Publishers are generally always going to be a reluctant to reveal too much detail about specifics like box design / contents, and certainly won't want to say anything exacting (and quotable) until the final decisions are made. G3's release is still a little way off yet, so hold off making any judgements for now.
