yeah i wuz talkin with my dad and i'm fairly sure the problem lies with my video card. apparently i was misinformed and it's got 16 MB not 32 which means it is indeed time to upgrade.
ohbrandi, i'll take it
BOM, i tried it with eeevvveeerrything bashed down to the bare minimum. still nada. i can't see any difference at all, and it still freezes. so on you and your cynicism.
Xen, the NWN installer said that it detected Direct X 8.1 or higher already installed. vid card is AMD Athalon or some such thing, 16 MB like i said above. sound card is soundblaster audio PCI 128.
gomez, stfu (i enjoy your blasting antics, but not when they're pointed at me ) _________________ =Follower of Righteousness=

Well, if you don't have an AGP slot available, it will do you no good to buy a GeForce 2, 3, or 4 (unless someone makes a GeForce 2 PCI card). Just buy a Geforce 3 ti 200 (anything faster will outlcass your CPU by an order of magnitude). Of course, if you don't have AGP available, get a tnt2 card with 64 MB Ram. They're dirt cheap. _________________ "It has been a grand journey- well-worth making once."

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode. I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

I've see an ATI All In Wonder 32 Meg PCI as well, they're really cheap, about $150 Canadian.. _________________ We need a new bard. All this one does is sing and drink. |

Try and find a GeForce 2 or better with a PCI slot. I've seen them. Look at www.mwave.com, www.compuplus.com and www.pricewatch.com. Do not buy at CompUSA! unless you want to pay top dollar. The Ti200 is an excellent card as is the TI4200. Stay away from the GeForce 4 MX 420,440,460 cards as they are barely better than a GeForce 2 GTS or Pro or Ti, unless you get a comparable price.
Here is the card for you! Unless your going to upgrade your puter then the above cards are better. $25! Hell yeh, I might even get one, my aging TNT2 is getting slow.

Haven't played it in years.. LOL, Hope that card works good and let us know how your shopping experience with them goes as they have smoking prices on their video cards! A Geforce 2 is a big step up from a TNT2, my system could use a video card upgrade for sure as my CPU's aren't being over taxed by games. Dual Celeron board with 433's, not that SMP is that great... Wish I had Neverwinter to try on it.. Maybe if the price drops.. |

And the peasants rejoiced and sacrificed many Virgins to the Gods of UPS and all was good...
Seriously, that's like one of the most brilliant feelings you'll ever get with a computer is a new piece of hardware allowing you to play a game you're desperate to play _________________ We need a new bard. All this one does is sing and drink. |

Yes, my TNT2 card allowed me to play Shogun. I almost wet my pants from the sheer joy I felt. _________________ "It has been a grand journey- well-worth making once."
