Graphics messed up a bit

I'm running Morrowind with no expansions and with the latest patch. I have Windows 2000 Pro and a Kyro 2 Hercules 64meg video card. I installed Morrowind and it runs fine, but outside (but not in buildings or stuff), the graphics are a bit funky. There appears to be water at about my character's waist that extends everywhere, NPC's are visible through things like bridges, and these white objects (with I think might be trees) are visible everywhere towards the sky.

Is this problem with my video card or just a known bug? Thanks for any help.

A friend of mine had the water problem when he installed the latest patch. He got rid of it by playing unoatched.

I *think* it's the Hercules...

The official forums at www.elderscrolls.com would definitely know for certain... are you using the latest drivers for your video card?

O guess its problem with your nonstandart video card. I think whole Kyro chipsets family is not officially supported.
You can try this trick (I copied it from one of many FAQs on MW):

The Kyro chipset is not officially supported but try this fix at your own risk:

1) Right-click on your desktop and select Properties
2) Select "Settings" then "Advanced" then "3D Optimisation"
3) Create a new profile for Morrowind (using the small arrow pointing to the right). Call the profile name "Morrowind" and the exe name "morrowind.exe"
4) Tick "Defer Render Until Flip"
5) Press OK and exit the control panel.

Unfortunately, the Kyro cards were such different beasts from the rest of the pack, there will always be occasional glitches with them.

If Dani's suggestion doesn't fix your problem, I'd seriously suggest getting yourself a cheap NVIDIA or ATI instead - you can get a GeForce MX4-series card, for instance, for under $30 retail these days. For a real bargain, check EBay or find a game store selling second-hand kit.
