Who officially announced Gothic would be put on consols? PB?

To get off the subject. I'm no big fan of DOOM3 either but its visual effects and display are stunning. Shootem ups just get kind of boring they all seem to have the same plot. Kill Aliens, Kill bad troops, Escape. The one I really liked was dues ex. RPGs seem to offer more interactivity and story like Gothic  .

| Gothic 2 on xbox and not ps2 |

1. Gothic 1 COULD be released for gamecube, i read it somewhere A LONG TIME AGO. But nothing since,
and its been a long time.
2. Gothic 2 does not load the whole level as Gothic 1 did, but strems the world as i read in an interview. So it would not be possible without a HDD
and only xbox has one. Also the game was made for geforce 3, and will be very easy to do on xbox,
finally it uses a lot of ram that again only xbox have.
3. In an recent interview the developers themselves said Gothic 2 will come to a console, but not which one.
Also some time ago Jo wood had announced that Gothic 2 will come to xbox, but was LONG ago
So it is safe to assume that xbox will be the one. The other two could not possibly handle the game, and not
alter it to the worst with their limited ram and no hdd.
So there you have it . Gothic 2 on xbox. I have a P2.26 Ghz pc with a geforce 4600 and still i prefer to play the game
on my tv rather than the pc. Of course i will buy it for both. |

heheh i dont know why but i dont like no consoles even if it would be with some super effects orsome other ulu mulu. the best is to play games on PCs  |

Bottom Line:
Based on facts from xbox pages and GCN announcments, Gothic I will be on the following:
1. Xbox (Nov. 2002)
2. GCN (Who knows?) 
It will NOT be on PS2, or has not been announced yet. So sorry .

From JoWooDs´ Gothic II FAQ (9/21/2002):
Q: Are there plans to port Gothic II to a console?
A: At this time JoWooD has no plans regarding a Gothic II console port.

I heard that Gothic 2 would not be based on the GeForece 3. Lest see... In fact...
"Technical Details
° The engine will not be based on GeForce 3
° The Gothic II engine won't be - as had been suspected - Phenomedia's CodeCreatures but a revamped version of the 'old' Gothic engine which makes better use of hardware (environmental mapping, detail textures...)
° The world has technically been cut in half so you won't be required to have at least 512MB RAM in your system; due to streaming technology loading times should be considerably shorter
° Hardware requirements for getting the nicest effects would be a PIII and a GeForce 3 with 32 MB RAM"

LOL me too!!!!!!!! I'm gonna have to sweet talk my mom to get a new comp or else G2 I might not be able to run it to its limits. That'd be terrible.

The thing, onimusha2 are out now....
burnout2 in 11th of october, Timesplitters 2 in october, hitman2 in october
gta vice city 8th of november, red faction2 in november....some very sunshiny days are up ahead for PS2 i must say....i know it's offtopic, oh well..kinda..it's still about PS2

hehehe i buyed The Thing for pc and even fnished the game but didnt like it :S kinda boring and the story was not good |

I'd either upgrade your comp or just buy a new one.
