The Bard's Tale: Release Dates Announced @ Gamer's Hell

Gamer's Hell reporter Silviu Gheorghe brings us the latest word re release dates for inXile's "The Bard's Tale"...

We just inform you that The Bard’s Tale will ship to retail outlets on October 26th, for PS2 and Xbox; the PC version will be released in spring of 2005. The game is not a sequel to the game released in the 1980's, it is "a completely new game, providing a truly innovative action-RPG experience with witty dialogue, stunning graphics and non-linear gameplay".

If I remember correctly GTA San Andreas is released on Oct. 26. For Bard's Tale to attempt a release on the same date is suicide.

Edit: Well, unless they suspect that their product is going to appeal to such the opposite polarity of gamers than those that will purchase San Andreas that it won't affect their sales. That just seems doubtful though.

I got my copy yesterday from EB games and love this game!!!!!

If you like humor and the idea of a non linear story then you have to at least try this game out. I have never laughed so hard in my life while playing a game!

I even tested out the idea that the story and paths change depending on your snarky vs nice reply. I ended up with four different paths on just that one save! I do not see how this game could be the same each time one plays it..or even the same per player. The game is very versitile.

The hero has a personality and is very human. The remarks he makes are a hoot. Even the funny cliches and the arguments he gets into with the narrator are unigue and refreshing.

The narrator will even get on your back if you stand around too long. One time I accidently killed my char and the narrator could not be happier....seems like them to do not like each other very much..lol

The only thing so far that I do not like about the game is you use a overhead cam. I wish I had more control over the camera or even a first person option at times. The cutscenes are nice in that the veiw switches each time you speak to a npc.

This game become quite addicting! Treat yourself to this game if you like rpg's.
