Tommorrow, is the Election day in the US. That means soon after that at least one of two miracles will take place.
1. The most powerful man in the world will turn over control of the most powerful army in the world without any armed struggle at all.
2. Millions of people will peacefully agree to follow a person that they believe is completely unsuitable to lead, simply because they agree to compromise this belief for the greater good.
At least one of these will occur, maybe both.
We have done much debating, criticizing, arguing, and explaing, concerning our point of view about the election in the past few weeks, and it won't stop with the coming election. But I want to stop to state for myself that no matter who the Presidential election, I congratulate him and will try to work together to make America and the world a better place. I hope and ask others to do the same. We will disagree but, I would ask us all to retract our claws, take off our gloves and be in peace for a few days. _________________ Always with you what can not be done. Does that mean that, if Dubya wins, you'll be joining the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy in the name of "being in peace"? In the great spirit of national comradery, I'll welcome you with open arms.
Tomorrow is truly a fantastic event. May the least worthless candidate win. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

No, but it does mean that for at least few days I will try to approach issues with a spirit of compromise and an open mind.
Besides, after the election we will all need a break from fighting.
If Kerry wins will you become part of the Liberal-Socialist Agenda to destroy religion and create a New World Order with Bill Clinton as the ruler of the world.
I wish everyone in the world had the same say over their leadership. _________________ Always with you what can not be done. Hear you nothing that I say? - Master Yoda

The Daily Show has it right... the name of their special tonight is "Prelude to a Recount"
All I know is that shows I like (well, tuesday sucks for tv anyways) will be pre-empted by people screaming "Bush has won! Er... wait... no... message coming in Kerry wins! Err.... no... just one second... BUSH has won in a landslide... no... no... Osama Bin Laden has victoriously set up a theocracy! Wait, that's not even POSSIBLE..."
I guess that's better than most of the sitcoms on now.
So let us sit back peacefully and share a laugh as the media frenzy goes into overtime. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

Sam, don't hold my breath to you becoming part of the Liberal-Socialist Agenda to destroy religion and create a New World Order with Bill Clinton as the ruler of the world or don't hold my breath to everyone in the world having the same say in their leadership? _________________ Always with you what can not be done. Talking of Presidential Related Retardation(c), wasnt there supposed to be some reality show where the winning contestant would be supported as a presidential candidate? _________________ IMHO my opinion is humble |

Yeah, it'll be playing on every news network this evening and probably for quite a while afterwards lol. Thank the heavens I live in a state that isn't "battleground". _________________ -=Professional Secret Agent=-

That first one is hardly a miracle, Darrius. The only time that didn't happen was when the South seceded from the nation.
I'm just glad this election is over. I'm also glad that Kerry had the class (or desire for political survival ) to not turn this into another stupid court battle. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

@Val, the first one may not seem like a miracle to us in the US, but you have to admit by historical standards that is a very rare event.
On Kerry's concession. Fights hurt both the winners and losers. He knew another fight over the Presidential election would do more harm than good, even if he won. When you throw in the fact that it was unlikely that he would win, it becomes a no-brainer. _________________ Always with you what can not be done. Hear you nothing that I say? - Master Yoda

I'm almost disappointed. I was fully braced for a bunch of lawyers running around trying to tell us how we voted or should have voted.
Now what am I going to do with all of this popcorn? _________________ -=Professional Secret Agent=-

@Darrius: When compared with the thousands of years of human history, then yes, I'll agree of that point.
@Lawanda: I'll take that popcorn off your hands and save it for the Supreme Court nominees. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Awww... no explosions.
Oh well.. there's always the next election, where GWB declares that a nation at war should not change presidents and announces that he is suspending elections until such a time where the US is secure.
Mwahahahahahahaha
At least my TV nights are back to normal and the news is back to reporting more interesting things than who is where doing what to win votes. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi
