Leonard Boyarsky Talks About Bloodlines

This very cool audio clip from Troika's Leonard Boyarsky came into my possession recently and it's my pleasure to offer it here on the site for you guys to check out. I'm not sure of the origin of this clip. I can only assume that it came from an interview at E3 or something.
It feels very much like a "first look" interview aimed at people not familiar with Redemption or the WoD, explaining terms like 'embrace' and 'discipline'. He makes mention of "safe areas" within the game and I get the feeling he's talking about more than just your haven. He also uses the term "combat area" as well but hastens to correct himself on use of the term "combat". It would seem he's being careful not to reinforce the impression that Bloodlines is going to be a non-stop action oriented shooter.

He touches on the distinctions between the clans and different abilities in the game pointing out that you need to play the strengths of your clan to accomplish quests effectively. He uses obfuscate as an example and makes it very apparent that the discipline works in Bloodlines exactly as it does in the PnP. There's also a quick reference to "follower NPCs" which in this context can only mean your coterie. While we've seen the ability of the NPC's to cooperate with the player in the Source Engine E3 trailer, Leonard is quick to point out that they're only tinkering with them at this point and that Troika isn't sure if they'll be implemented.

Finally he says that Troika is aiming for 40 - 60 hours worth of gameplay instead of some extravagant figure like 100+ hours to enable them to concentrate on thoroughly testing and balancing the game.

Click here to download the clip in MP3 format. Approx 7mb. Duration 7min 40sec.

A very nice summation of what to expect from the game. Thanks to Dan from Bloodlines @dilapidation.com for posting it.

Leonard Boyarsky - i thought i saw that name in the credits of Fallout.

40-60 hours of gameplay, enough for me .
