Hello this is Lintra but it's not but the Lintra him self will be reading this post any way
My dad cant seem to kill Will-o-wisps, hes got a level 14 fighter type (Viking!) and was in the Serpants Tail going to Pale pass when the Will-o-wisp came out of nowhere so he tired to fight it with his silver axe, then his magic warhammer and nothing could kill the thing. Thanks!

They are really hard to kill as they suck life from you, but you can damage them in normal ways. I usually avoid them unless I absoluttely have to kill them, and then I just whack away as fast as I can - they tend to stop the life leeching after some time so they actually start losing health.

Hiya Maylander,

This time it really is Lintra ... thanks for the help. I followed the same approach ... just ran. Unfortunately, my viking fighter type (okay I'll fess up, he uses heavy armor) could prolly now take one on, but they no longer float alone, but are noiw escorted by heavies. One day, I'll just try it as a goof.

I found that kiting with a bow works very well with them. When you run away, even if you cant see them, shoot in the direction you came from and you're sure to hit them thanks to the fact that baddies run in a straight line... You, theoretically, wont lose any arrows since they bounce off. Of course, after that you have the problem of picking them all up.

I'm also a viking type heavy fighter. I got an enchanted elven Claymore. does fire damage. That weapon goes through them like made! Also dodge in and out swinging like a madman, doesn't really give them a chance to suck your life. If they start, keep moving away till the spell is broken.
