That's not what you thought. You wrote this earlier:

I have a feeling Gothic is/or should be an action/adventure game. If anyone here has played Morrowind as I have, you can really tell the difference (You have to have played it awhile though...)

I'd call it an action adventure with RPG elements myself...that's what I called Gothic...
I'm picky I'd guess, but it seems that any form of char advancement=RPG which isn't really how I personally see it.(RPG to me is a non linear game with freedom to form your own char and the game should react to its changes...best example -and only so far I've played- Fallout and FO2...)
I haven't played Arcanum,so no opinion on it....MW I'd rate as hack'n'slash anyhow since it really doesn't matter much what I do/which race I am....
I'll get G2 on release,I loved Gothic and I doubt G2 will be worse....it seems to become all I wanted,an improved Gothic...
Arx I've only played the demo of since it's not released in English yet,so I can't really say yet if I'll consider that an RPG either...(I will get it though)

For some, RPG = Developing a character with stats. With a such opinion Diablo is an RPG while Gothic is a Adventure Game with rpg elements.

If you split up the name into "Role Playing Game" it means that in a RPG you takes the role of a character, and plays it as you wish. The more freedom you have, the more it is an RPG. Thus Gothic is indeed a RPG and Diablo is not.

Then we have the term "Computer Role Playing Game". If you asked the "man on the street" what a roleplaying game is, and he said that "you sit around a table with forms and roll dices", and then add the word "Computer" in front of that, you have "You sit in front of the computer with computerised forms and computerized dices".

This is as true as "Monkey Wrench" have nothing to do with Monkeys.

Best Regards
JemyM
