just a quick question does anyone know if there will be a 2nd or expansion to this game? god please say yes, and the 2nd question is, i would like to play another role play based game that is as similar as possible, to this game, any suggestions? not likeness or a kinda similar, i want a game just like it, fighting, non-linear, no classes, and lots of AI, gothic felt almost as if it was a real world.....where you could really interact with people on a regular basis, and your meetings affects how the person feels about you.....in short i just want another game like gothic, any suggestions? or ideas of when gothic 2 is coming out if it even is

I can't even get gothic here in Finland and it's way too expensive to order it from other countries

Yep. A 2nd game is official and is worked on right now.

The only game that is as non-linear and open as Gothic are "Fallout 2".
Its the only game in wich you can decide to play any role you want,
dont choose any classes, and interact with NPCs the way you want, on
regular basis etc.

The graphics might feel old now, but in non-linearity it even goes above
Gothic.

Best Regards

Since when was gothic non-linear? You have to do the SAME THINGS each time. You only get to choose a different weapon each time.

Ultima sucks. Ultima IX is the worst game ever made. I'm still waiting for a 3Ghz computer before I decide to replay it (and maybe actually finish it this time).

Deus Ex is really good!!!! and not linear!!!
Play it!

You can finish the game WITHOUT killing any person!!!!!!!!!! ITS COOL!

The "2nd" Gothic will be an "update" to Gothic! It is called Sequel!
It would be cool if you could use your old character or your inventar from Gothic and play with him Sequel

In my opinion Gothic is pretty much liner
well of course u have lotsa side way quest and that's really good but story is pretty liner, as soon as u join one of camps it turns only one way. I agree there has to be one ultimate goal in the game, but what if i want to reach it my way. (ie. i'd love to talk to Xardas right away, of course with some training to beat those 3 golems) but you cant do so in gothic

Those Chapters things a bit ruined the game.
tho, Gothic is pretty nice and i'd give it 'Best RPG of the 2001 year'

I count the first chapter to be as long as the rest of the game

Deua Ex is a fantastic game! It's my favourite game of all time! I look forward to the sequel. You can finish the game by not killing the most of the people, but you have to kill 3 people to finish the game. These are: Anna Navarre, Gunther Herman and Walter Simon, director of FEMA or whatever his name was.
