Modding help needed after all
   

ok well im working on a small project whit a german sdk for G1 .. the problem is that i aint really any good at german
so my qustion for now is how do i get altered scripts to run whit gothic
like an NPC behaveior script or item script n' what have ya

or does anyone know where i could get a english SDK whit some decent tut's if such a thing excists ?

@Uocjat,

Do you mean the "spacer" kit? - if so there is a script tutorial in english on the gothicdot site (over on the left) - "Gothic\modding\tutorials". it tells you what you need and how to start from scratch.

The MDK (mod developement kit) is in german as you say.

You must bind it into the script files of gothic (depending if you canged a file or created a new file and where you placed it, it gets a wildcard or you must register it in gothic.src), then use the gothic starter and choose the option "Reparse scriptfiles". I think you can use the parameter -zreparse to force this option manually.

ok maybe i'll try that when i got more time on my hands ..

but for now another qustion ... does anyone .. anyone at all have any clue what so ever how the heck to decompile an *.MRM file ??
and if so what do i need and where can i get it

ok so now i got a model working whit the game .. still cant figur out how to get a script working tough
when i try the reprarse thing it gives me some weird error and shuts down

the bet thing is to use the zspy tool to see, which file is complaining. Then you can fix the thing, that the FIRST message reports.

ok whit the zspy i get a red line saying

that make any sense to you ?? cuz it sure as hell doesnt to me

Yeah, this makes sence. You wrote something wrong. The zspy must give you a somewhere a red marked file (the first one), where you can find the error. If this doesn't help you, feel free to contact me per icq/email.

turns out i didnt write anything wrong .. it was just the mod kit i was useing that had been damaged due to a recent system crash i had ..
but that problem is taken care of now and so far everything seems to be working nicely .. started "debugging" the Legendary swords of burning and the bow and started work on some new nice weapons ¨
so i'll be out whit some kind of mod somewhere in the year 5006

by the way how many here knows the very old game called lands of lore III ?

LOL 3 is from '99 and thus not old (at least not in my book... I'd admit to LOL 1 being old, however, that one's from '93).
Yes, of course I remember it, all three LOL titles are among my favorite CRPGs. Even though No. 3 was of special value only for those who had played the first game.

well i men t old in the sense that its quite hard to find any new about it or patchs beyound 1999 i ment no disreapect

well the thing is i love that game ( maybe cuz it was the first game i had when i first got a PC ) and i've been kinda playing whit the idea of makeing a LOL3 mod for gothic .. just wanted to be sure that it wouldnt be a complite waste of time

what do you know about them and how do i make them work ?
Wulf surggested that i started makeing bow's as well for my mini weapon mods
seemed reasonable but proved to be quite a challange
i made a bow textured and scripted it and its working whit the make .. so far great!

but theres one small prob .. the string .. how do i get it to use the animation like the other bow ? right now its just hanging there doing NOTHING .. its starting to bug me but im not the kinda person that gives up .. ever ..
but i do how ever need your help

Sorry Uocjat if i caused a lot of work with the bow suggestion, while it would be great, it is rather involved with the animations, - there are different length strings for different bows, maybe look at another mod, say such as Zonks babe.v2 mod and see how he has seperate anim's for them. while your inside that mod, look at the fire lance thing - for shooting fire pellets, - it uses the same flame overlay as the burning bow. Maybe one day we could have the "Uocjat flame lance" - now theres a thought, othewise not much help but maybe a start?
