Definitely BG2. I'm not even that big of a D&D fan and I had a blast with BG2. _________________ All shall hear the words of Karras...the words of Karras |

BG2 is what made Bioware famous and sold this NWN junk (no offense NWN fans out there)
Anyway, you should definitely get BG2 and its expansion Throne of Bhaal.
And, if you haven't played BGI yet, here's a surprise - now you can play BGI + expansions + BGII and ToB on BGII's engine, as one continuous game You just have to purchase the original games and install a massive patch by TeamBG. I'm not sure about the details, so if you decide to give it a try I suggest you ask questions on the official BGII forums first. |

Probably somewhere at www.teambg.com although I had little luck myself. _________________ CaptainWorshipperNonFlamer

Does that mod also "upagrade" BG1 to BG2's infinity engine, or does it simply allow you to play BG1 and BG2 as one continuous game? |

I downloaded and installed The Darkest Day by team BG (I think they did it?). It was horrible... the worst butchering of a great game I have ever seen. As such I am leary about anything further from them. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

For sole play BG2 is better than NWN. NWN gets tedous with the walking around and clearing areas that seem rather generic; it does have some nice story lines on the side, but they seem under developed for the most part. BG2 was a good game, but out of all the infinity engine games Icewind dale is my favorate, though I realy enjoyed playing through Darlog's Tower (right name?) in the BG expansion.

It's Durlag's Tower, but you where close Durlag's Tower was nice and i think it has more traps than all other BG1 locaions together. Although I like ToSC more for nice little touches it added to original gameplay. Like finding a ring of wizardry really early in the game was *very* nice (additional spells for wizard's spellbook) etc.
BTW, IWD forever!

NWN offical single player campaign is abysmal in so many ways I can hardly believe the same guys that made BG I and II made NWN single player campaign. However, it's strength is in the modding capabilities (it's fun to make your own adventures for others to play), it's absolutley amazing Dungeon Master feature, and in general it's multi-player or player modded adventures. |
