Hi guys,

Havent been to the NWN board for some time............flipping between Fallout2 / Baldurs Gate 2 and others at present due to the RPG famine at the moment.

I have read a few things about Perpetual Worlds....has anyone tried these and can give me some ffedback?

I presume the environment is a "living" thing and carries on whether you are there or not.

I would be interested to try one.

Regards,

Hexmaster

I've been to some beautiful persistant worlds where the DMs try pretty hard... and I've been to ones which are just sort of sitting there. In both cases lag completely destroyed my enjoyment of PW (multiplayers as a whole, even when I direct connect I tend to lag... and only in NWN. I can't figure it out.).

Some persistant worlds have some very interesting haks running.

Persistent worlds will definetly be improving with the new additions. The database functions help a lot. For me the point of persistent worlds is continuity. You retain quest information, and other data on your character. Some persistent worlds seem overly punitive, in my view. Usually when you expire, which will happen with far to much regualrity, you are penalized. The exp awards are minimal and most seem to be into the tradeskill thing. Which to me makes little sense. I am an adventurer, not a tradesperson learning a trade. I have probably spent about 100 hours in pw's, and am working on my own. Take a look at the vault and check out some of the top pw's.
