have 32mb tnt2 graphic card 1.4ghz cpu and 256 ram but when i play the game the frame rate gets very low every few seconds then speeds up and seems to be very foggy like the brightness is to high, i played with all the settings, someone please help. |

Itīs a hardware problem. Your TNT2 is far too slow. I suggest you replace this fossile with a real graphics card and add another 256MB RAM. Then you wonīt have performance problems with Gothic and the upcoming Gothic2.

My little TNT2 was able to handle it. Of course, I had twice as much RAM.

Your card was able to handle it or you only think it was able to handle it because you donīt know how smooth Gothic should run?

It looked pretty good to me. I only have a few minor slow downs every once in a while. 
Of course, if I could get it to run even smoother, well...

I was thinking of getting a Radeon 7000 64meg or another 512ram which would make the game run smoother. or will it at all |

This is partially a good idea.
256 MB RAM are okay, 512 all you want as a gamer. Prices are sinking fast, so you might want to try without first.
A Radeon 7000 is also outdated and rather slow technology. I might be wrong here, Radeon 7000 is one of the few ATI cards Gothic has still problems with.
A relatively complete list of technologically up to date cards, sorted by price of the 64MB version:
1.GeForce 3 Ti-200
2.Radeon 8500 LE ~150$
3.GeForce 3 Ti-500
4.Radeon 8500 ~200$
5.GeForce 4 Ti-4200 ~200$
6.dto. Ti-4400 ~230$
7.dto. Ti-4600
Even the cheapest of these cards will give you at least 5x your current graphics performance. All cards support DirectX8 <i>in hardware</i>, even new games like Morrowind will run with full details.
To cut it short, if youīre on budget get 1. or 2., if you want the best price/performance ratio buy 4. or 5. .

beenlooking and found a gforce4 mx420 card with 64mg wondering if the technology is out of date on it or what looked pretty awsome to me but don't really know , is it a good idea |

Very bad idea. The GeForce4 MX is a relabelled and overclocked GeForce2 MX which is a castrated GeForce2. The GeForce4 MX-420 is not even overclocked.
This is DirectX7 technology, not DirectX8.
See for yourself. Look at this short article. The GeForce4 MX-420 is ~as fast as a GeForce2 MX-400.

and hows a radeon 7500, im kinda stuck with not many choices my motherboard isn't ddr compatable so i have to find the best card i can get that is sdram |

No it dosent matter if your board can not handel ddr ram.
It only tells you that u cant insert ddr ram into the RAM slots.
video ram type has nothing to do with that.

A Radeon 7500 is also a DirectX7 card and therefore less powerful, especially for future games, than all the cards I listed. Of course itīs way better than your TNT2 or the GeForce4 MX-420. Nevertheless youīll see yourself upgrading again when all the games which <i>require</i> DirectX8 hit the shelves. All DirectX7 cards will have to emulate these features in their driver. It will look okay, but it will be slow.
