I think I'll just find a relatively large home with only a couple of weak people living there, slaughter them, and use it as my home until some better presents itself.

Hmm...

Now, if you clean out an area, like the bandit cave, or the home of some other NPCs, is that.. er, persistent?

I mean, I know they have tried hard to immerse you in a living, breathing world, and all that stuff like that there, but, how real is it?

Do the NPCs move about and do their daily tasks?
Do the NPCs sleep? Go indoors at night?
If you clean out an area, will others come along later?
Could a monster wander by and inhabit your cave once you have taken it?
