Well, PB did say in one very early interview that they will try to get the G1 feeling back.

@ Maylander

great points there most of them i feel the same way about
but first about HL2 i just finshed it again ( whitout trashing my comp )
and the way i feel about it is basicly that valve is really ripping people off in the biggest way possible
theres one or two new weapons but we lost 3 or 4 weapons from the old game
the story line is very wage or close to non-excisteing
and ontop of that their famous puzzle aspect from the first HL has really been degraded
i remember spending hours in the first HL trying to figure out how to get across a damn bridge .. in HL2 everything was pretty much figured out in 5 mins

ok engouth ranting about HL2

personaly i think that PB managed to keep the feel of gothic in gothic to ..
except ofcause for the thing whit the hero being send on a quest from the very begining
but they have alot of ways that they can avoid this in GIII
one way would be to open the story line whit a shipweck
although i've heard a rumor that this will not be the case but there are other ways
and as my view on german quillity is still that its great
then im sure that they'll do everything possible to try and keep the magic of the game intact
people around the world are expecting alot from this game
but im sure they can manage to live up to it .. maybe even surprise us ?

Truth be told, there is hardly a company out there I trust as much as PB when it comes to doing the right thing, but it's just that Gothic 1-2 are so great, and I want it to continue like that. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best!

I just hope they take there time on it and its playable when it comes out in english but dont have to wait like 8 months cause that just sucks

I loved Gothic 1 but i was disapointed with 2 main thing i noticed there really wasnt alot of caves or little tunnels or little spots to explore and get treasure they had more in gothic 1 but hardly any in 2 hope they add those in.

IMHO that is just the other way round, obviously you didnīt search the gothic2 weel enough. i hope gothic 3 will offer even more hidden caves that are not quest related but in fact iīm sure it will, PB never dissapoints!
