Could someone explain the weapon training system to me?

I don't understand the 1 handed and 2 handed weapon system. Cord said something about training in one would make the other go up. I have 30 in 2 handed and my 1 handed is still 10. I don't understand the way it works, could someone please explain it.

Starts with 10 at each. Till 30 in one you can train the one you choose and it costs 5 Learning points (lp) for every 5%. After passing 30% in onehanded for example (while twohanded are at 10% still) You can only learn onehanded for 10 lp. It increases onehanded 5% and twohanded 5% - You learn both. The next limit is 60%. So after learning one handed to 30% you can learn two handed to 30% for 5 lp for every 5% and then onehanded again to 60% for 5 lp for every 5%. Or you can continue with onehanded for 10 lp and you will get 5% both every time. Having both at 60% You can learn further for 5 lp for every 5%.
Same with bows and crossbows.
Really hope above written can be understood.

So the game basically forces you to keep your skills within 30 points of the other weapon skill. Either forced or voluntary. Because it ends up costing the same. Seems like a strange system to me.

Yes it may look strange, but even for people like me killing and doing everything in every chapter it makes game a little beat more demanding and worth playing.

The number representing your 1h or 2h skill stands for your chance in percent to make a critical hit. In this case your Str is added to your weapon damage.
The idea behind the system is that itīs unrealistic somebody with one strong sword skill doesnīt know anything about the other.
Practically this forced waste of skill points prevents the creation of mixed warrior & mage chars.
