I take it you haven't been to the monastery yet. Bennett will tell you he has more eggs than he can use. You can get medium dh armor if you bring him a bunch of dragon scales (12?). You can get the heavy armor if you have read the almanac in the secret library under the monastery, then go back to Bennett and tell him you know how to improve the armor further. You find out about the dragon slayer swords too. You have to be in ch 5 for this. The eggs have nothing to do with the armor although the quest seems to indicate this. There's a map on the web somewhere about where all of the eggs are. I'm sorry but I can't remember where. There's a link somewhere in the forum to a bunch of maps, although they are in German.

I already have the heavy dragon armor and he says that he has more than he knows what to do with. I thought he would make me something else.

I have the Dragon Slicer sword. Is there something better i should get or make or have made?

You need to forge your own dragon slayer. You should have learned the formula from the almanax. You can shk your notes for it.

I'm probably missing something here... but I'll shoot anyway. You only need 4 or maybe 5 nuggets of ore to forge the large ore dragon slayer. If your trying to make both swords... I don't know.
Have you tried all the merchants? Have you done that bandit quest and let the fish dude off and purchased the special fish? Have you run that quest for Vatras? Have you checked the mines up in the old bandit camp with dexter in it?
Otherwise, if your really desperate or in need, you could use Marvin Mode to insert a nugget...

I need three to learn how to forge, and 5 to make the dragonslayer. I think I found them in the caves. I will check around with the merchants, but I am not sure if it too late to get in on those quests, but I will try.

Thanks!

There's a nugget by the ship, there's one laying on the ground near the rise above the bandit camp in the VoM, you can get one from Halvor if you make a deal and get the round fish from him, there's 2 given to you in VoM. One for killing lurkers in ch 2 or 3 and one for bringing Talbin across the pass in ch 4 or 5. Then the 5 nuggets in the old mine by Dexter's bandit camp. You may be able to buy from the weapons dealer on Onar's farm after you give the ore to Bennett. There's one on the ship if you want to wait that long.

Jung! Stop! I hope your still reading this...
You don't need to learn how to forge to make a Dragon Slayer Sword!!! If you have gone to the monestary and done the whole episode with the monestary basement/catacombs and gotten the charts and read the Almanac in the basement. Its the book on the thin stand!
If you read you don't have to know how to forge to make the best swords!!! Simply read the book... then go to a forge either in town or on the farms... purchase a piece of raw steel... go to the large "fire" and heat the blade by using it... then go over to the anvil and use it... you will get an option to make two different swords: the Large Ore Dragon Slayer (2H - 100 str. - 110 damage) or the the smaller, one-handed, Ore Dragon Slayer (90dmg).
Good luck... and I hope you read this.

Thanks, I will do that! I was also afraid I would have to learn more 2-handed(i'm at 60%) for that sword, but I have over 100 experience points saved up, so no biggie. I am at 90% on 1-handed, how can I get to 100 before heading off to the island?

Well...
If you are a paladin, I believe you can go to Lord Hagen... but that may be for 2H'ers only. Truth be told I don't know for sure. But honestly, you don't really need to have your skill raised even more above 90% before Chapter 6. I promise you won't go and die
If you are a Merc. then you might want to go to Lee, but again... I believe this is for 2H'ers only.
But seriously, you'll live till chapter 6 with only 90%. Oooh! I just remembered! Have you bought the book from Lutero in the uper quarter that details on 1H-Fighting? Its costly, a 5000 gp, but it raises your 1H skill by 5%.
Also, if you go to the militia HQ courtyard between 5-7am, you can find Wulfgar there training by himself. He will at those hours only, offer you a tip that raises your skill by 2%.
Well, that was a lot. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Maybe someone else knows? Anyway, Good Luck and Good Hunting!

What, you don't have to go through the whole learn how to forge a decent sword thing? Cool.

He's a dragon hunter. But he's right. You will have plenty of trainers for one handed in ch 6.
