can't draw weapon

This may sound dumb but how do you draw a weapon. I hit space and he changes his stance but does not pull out the dagger. I then open inventory and highlight the dagger and then hit space and same deal.

Does it work if you leave the walk mode (caps lock, shift)?

You have to highlight the weapons and spells you want to use in the inventory, one after the other. Every time press Ctrl or the LMB to assign (unassign) the item to a hotkey. You should now see a number from 1-0 near every activated weapon.
Close the inventory. Chose your weapon/spell with the '^' - '0'. Space toggles the last used weapon/spell. If you�ve never used one this is a bit complicated.
