Maylander -- on what exactly do you base the conclusion that "French, German and English are the languages most spoken in the 'computerworld'"?

I appreciate your reiterating (without credit ) my point about all such rankings being merely estimates, but having reiterated it, making such a claim yourself is more than a bit suspect. The fact is that the population of Asia is larger by several orders of magnitude than that of Europe; and even though in some parts its access to computing has been limited, that is changing extremely rapidly, due in part to technological advances that permit equal access to character encodings other than ASCII.

And I'll repeat the point that nationality is a bad predictor of language skills: not all Swiss speak German, and Korean is spoken by millions outside of either Korea. So national populations are beside the point, despite "folk linguistic" assumptions to the contrary. That is precisely why the estimates of speaker numbers are so suspect.

English, German and French are the most popular languages in «Computer's world»? In Occident, yes... But don't forget Korean... and Japanese (and soon Chineese)

And for the English in India, there's a difference between an «official» language spoken by government, teachers, students, etc. (i.e. only the elite!) and a language spoken by crowd.

PornCop: But if you want numbers, you have to go by the "official languages" - you can't ask 6 billion people what languages they know, and how well they know'em..

Yes, it's changing pretty fast, BUT they all speak English.. I know a lot of gamers from Asia(Malaysia, Jordan and so on), and they all speak great English due to the fact that everybody rich enough to use a computer, goes to school, and in school, the secondary language is English.

And by the way, I can say that because the German, French and English actually BUY the games making the nations in Europe/US the only real market.. I've been to both Thailand and Malaysia, and you won't find a single original title in either one of those countries.
