Dungeon Siege?

A friend of mine recommended it and I am thinking of buying it ..Does it worth it?Is it an RPG?(It looks like Diablo from some reviews I've checked but I would like to hear something from someone who has it ..).Any suggestions , opinions , comments are welcome and appreciated...

IMO it's even less an RPG than Diablo. Good graphics, but very boring. But that 's just my opinion. You might want to read about it in the DS forum a bit.

I deleted it from my HDD after about a week. No story to speak of...

Yes, you can read about it in DS forum.
You will find great fans there. So keep in mind that it is not opinion of average player.
I really liked DS, but I must say that it was too long for what i contained.

Thanks Danicek,I must say that Jaz's post discouraged me a bit and to be honest I didn't know that there is a Dungeon Siege forum .. .So I am going to check it out more thoroughly....

Get a hold of the Demo...I have enjoyed playing with it. I don't think the actual game could offer anything but more of the same.

Unless some one puts together a great mod, I will not buy a copy of the game as is not worth me spending my limited amount of time on (tho the game is *very* pretty to look at).

It is very pretty. The graphics engine is very impressive. I looked forward to this game and when I bought and installed it, I was so impressed... I started to play and waited for something to happen but it looked like the only real challenge was how to cram my party into an elevator. I played on and on because the game turned out to be the only one that allowed me to have several progs running in the background doing things. But only today I found out that C&C Renegade was switch-into-the-background-resistant as well, so I rather returned to it.

But don't be discouraged Nikos, I know many folks who loved the game. Just as Lintra said, try to get the demo.

this game is booooring... i gave it to my little cousin after 3 hours playing. There is nothing to do except looking at pretty graphics.

all difficulties you find in an normal rpg are stripped of this game.

- traps: run into it
- poison, disease, insane, .... effects: none
- monsters resistences (to some weapons/spells): none
- tactical fighting: not needed
- difficult riddles: none

the story is weak, too.

no challenge at all.

go for Wizardry 8 or Morrowind -> these games are real rpgs.

Thanks guys....Well, from the screenshots I saw, I thought that it's too good to be true and although I am intrigued by it I prefer a more challenging and intresting game generally...Nevertheless I like to keep an open mind so I might check the demo and give it a fair chance...

Thanks again for your advice...

Loved the demo. But it was getting stale. So I pretended that getting to the tower was the point of the game. Ta da.
