Personally, I disliked how he added Luke screaming after he made his choice to die rather than join the dark side in Empire Strikes Back. I felt it was much more 'Jedi-like' without it. Apparantly Lucas agreed eventually as the most recent special edition DVDs saw him removing the scream once again.

Plus I don't like how Greedo shot first... but I don't know anyone who does.

I don't mind the replacement of the older Anakin at the end... though the middle aged man they had there was perfectly acceptable even if it was revealed Darth turned at a young age: I presume he didn't stop aging, after all, so perhaps that's what he would have looked like had he not turned. Still, it's consistant.

I found overall that EP 3 was closest to 5, 2 was closest to 6, and ... well... 1 wasn't close to 4 unless you tune out several things. Even if they had the same story: A peasant-hero is found on a backwards planet and leaves with a mentor to go assist a princess in peril and through a series of events ends up destroying the most powerful weapon threatening a group of liberal peoples. Young Anakin was just far more annoying than Bummy Luke could ever hope to be.

Perhaps it's because Leia wasn't running around flashing the name Skywalker like a neon sign. Luke did that quite well.

Are you implying that Luke's last name might have been a clue that he was Vader's son? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Just because he has the same last name as Vader and grew up on Vader's native planet in the home of Vader's step-brother...who is not named Skywalker, is not enough to suspect that he may be related to Vader.

Using common sense is not the Jedi/Sith way, they must search the force for these type things.

Force, smorce. The entire Jedi Council couldn't even see a Sith Lord when he was right under their noses. Why the heck would anyone pay attention to a smart-mouth princess?

Question for those who have seen the original = US version of RotS: what did General Grievous sound like?

My reason for asking this: in our localized version of Episodes 1 and 2, the Neimoidians didn't speak with a Korean accent like they did in the original movies - they sported French accents instead. The consequence: they sounded more oily than harsh and thus came across as a lot less threatening. It somehow fit their personality better, though (I saw the US versions of both EPs 1 and 2 before I saw the local one, and after mulling it over I decided I preferred our 'local' Neimoidians).

Now back to Grievous. In our localized version, he spoke with a heavy Spanish accent which made him sound like a grumpy old pirate. What did he sound like in the original version?

Xen, however young Ani (I must mention that I have serious issues with this nickname since it is a girl's nickname usually in Bulgaria) was annoying, you must give the kid credit that it was cute.

Besides, he was facing touhg competition for the title of most annoying character in The Phantome Menace, and ultimatevely, Jar Jar won (I hate the thing even more than C3PO).

Lady A: That's the point. People call him "li'l orphan Ani" as a way of comparing him to a little girl. The fact that he's called Ani as an official nickname (Annie IS a girl's name in English. There is no two ways about it... it's not a multi-gender name like Jamie) just made it easier for the haters to seize on the notion and run with it.

Cute? Not overwhelmingly, no. Kids do cute things and say cute things and I love children (surprisingly enough) but I didn't find anything Anakin did particularly 'cute'.

Well, I suppose ultimately some people have issues with the notion that one of the most memorable villains in history became evil because he was a clingy little 'mama's boy'.

Jaz: I'd be hard pressed to place an accent on Grevious in the american version. Similar to the other leaders of the trade federation but raspier and more drawn out. Definitely not pirate-like Spanish.
