EQ: New Engine Screens @ EQLoft

UbiSoft let us know that they have updated the European 'EverQuest' website with a few screenshots showing the capabilities of the new and improved 'EverQuest' graphics engine.

The zone from which these screenshots were taken is on the live servers. It's a pretty cool little demo zone. You access it via Nedaria's Landing and need an expedition to zone in. To get the expedition talk to a high elf on one of the docs in Nedaria's Landing.

The direction indicator will take you to a cave in Nedaria's Landing where you need to talk to a Taelosian to zone in. The zone is completely safe, with a couple of rooms in which you can kill mobs. The mobs will agro if you attack and are level 65.

Lighting and bump mapping look great on the npc's, however they still have not applied shaders or bump mapping to the water. So its still way behind other games.
