Anyone else absolutely fed-up with Cliff Racers?

Can we move 10 feet without being gang-banged by 2 or more Cliff Racers in just about ANY location in the game?

Sorry this is a bit of a rant but did BS ever hear of Habitat or Ecology? Seriously with the present population of suicidal raptors from above how does anything survive (including them)?! Additionally the damn things are a pain in the arse to target having to swing up or sit and wait for the damn things to meander down from above to a position you can hit them at.....

Anytime im runnin' along in a sandstorm (and getting immersed in the game) or starting to enjoy the scenery I hear the (by now) irritating call of the raptor and one (or more) comes sailing in to ruin the experience of the game.

<rant off>

Go to one of the mod sites - i think it might be listed in the plug-in depot on this site - if not, try morrowind-mods.com and download the 'declawed cliff racers' mod. It should be better than the one that removes them entirely, as this one promises to make it so they will only attack if you attack first. I have it running, but haven't met one yet (not played a lot yet).

The AI sucks so bad just run around a rock or a tree and they will get stuck.

I like the sound of that Plugin mod. Thx for the tip.

What annoys me is that almost every creature you see in the wilderness is aggresive. This bothers me. Granted this is different reality than ours, but if you've spent any time out in the wilderness you find the exact opposite in real life. We need a mod that only diseased creatures will attack you, all others will either mind their own business unless attacked, or actively try to avoid you.

And has anyone noticed that their doesn't seem to be anything other than people for slaughterfish to eat?

I must be one of the few...but I love the cliff-racers because for one thing I am an archer and have a really phat bow so I kill these things with like one shot before they get to me. As soon as I see one, I put the smack down on them. They are great target practice for when I get rusty.

I don't see what the big deal about cliff racers is, they're just another thing, they just happen to fly

*Sniffle*... the BASTARDS killed two NPCs I was escorting when I was jumped by like 6 of them! By the time I had waded through to get to the NPCs they were bleeding on the ground. Actually, one was... and I think I impaled the other trying to swing at the cliff racer on top of her...

I will kill them all!!!

If you noticed, they actually only live around rocky hills/cliffs which there are a lot of in the game, if you go into the grazelands region, you won't find any there. [/i]

My official answer is meh. Thanks to my Last Rites axe of painful execution, none can survive a single blow, and my armor class is high enough to make it that they barely scratch me. But yes, they are painfully irritating when you are a low-level whelp.

*laughs evilly*

-Matt will go slaughter Cliff Racers now.
