As I said elsewhere, there have been theses written about internet gaming gender-swapping (the official scientific term ). It's quite frequent.

When there's only one character to control, I usually play male cuz it feels more natural, and one never knows when a romance is coming... If it's a party, I usually go for a split of males and females... However, in BG II, I did solo the game with a female fighter-mage; note that I dumped that whiny Anomen like a piece of dirty underwear

huh , but i heard that some real female player actually like him. Anomen always boasting his skills in fighting to impress female main character. I guess even in real live it's natural for male attract/impress female with all kind of tricks?

I usually play males in games, although sometimes I play females. I tend to overshoot their characters, though.. I always end up bitchy and frigid, don't know why

With males it's easier to play the character's role because you don't have to focus on playing the gender.

I generally play females unless the game has a clear preference for one gender or the other. Jill Valentine and Me are good examples of this. I wanted to play a male in Resident Evil and a female in Gothic. I guess I just don't like to be pushed one way or the other.

On the other hand, I had absolutely no problem playing the male only Rune avatar Ragnar.

I always wanted to play as an animal. A dog suits me just fine. A fierce looking dog, female or male

You should have played R.O.T.T. and collected all Dog Mode power ups... R.O.T.T. was the first shooter I remember where you could choose between five different player characters with different skills/attributes, three male, two female btw...
