|
Fox just confirmed the classical trilogy of Star Wars to be released on DVD on November 4th 2004. At long last, it was about time!

ooops...sorry for the wrong date in the header...must have really been wishful thinking...
The news is from German site Phantastik.de http://www.phantastik.de/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2035, usually very well informed and reliable, but they don't have a source either
I'll keep searching official word on it!

Star Wars Trilogy - Original or Remake? |
|
So... are they giving us the original, un-digitally-affected versions or is this just a boxed set of the "new" remakes that came out a couple years ago? _________________ dSerk

I've been searching around a bit and found the following :
- The original Info comes from www.TheForce.net , a huge Star Wars Portal Site. Or at least the "original rumor".
Location of the News : here.
The second astonishing finding is the following page :
Star Wars Trilogy Limited Edition Set
I don't really know whether this is a fake or true, but IF it's true, then ist's simply astonishing !
By the way, be aware that there might be pop-ups and such stuff ! |

There is no official DVD set yet, so it must be fake. And, after all these years of delay, I expect the old version, and the new (where a new new version is rumored upon really, with spectacular sword fighs alike the new ones) |

I'm betting they'll release the original first, then a year or two later release the special edition version to milk more money out of people. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

This is one thing that i really agree and i am annoyed by this kind of marketing. Few years ago (1998??) Lucasart already released a digitally remastered version from the old version (with sound & picture quality improvement, plus few new scenes). I thought this is the must buy/final/definitive version for me.
*sigh*
I bet when the third prequel released next year, there will be another repackaged "definitive" version for you with some improvements and to be the most complete version, new extra scenes or features in DVD, or with the words "director's cut" on the cover, or something... And in a magazine's interviews George Lucas would says "this version is the real version i always wanted because until now no technology capable of allowing me adding that scenes into the movies...". _________________

Amon, as you can see from the feedback, enough people are interested, so these kind of newsbits will appear from time to time |
