TOEE - Uh.... Little help here? *temple level 4 spoilers*

Ok, I think I killed the main plot for TOEE. Not that it was particularly abundant to begin with, but still. Anyways, I destroyed Hendrak and his army of annoyances (hill giants, greater bugbear guardians, wizards, avatar of a dark god, etc). Then I went through and cleared the elemental nodes (though I only took one shot at the Balor and Hezrog, this time through. Then I set my thief of them and stole the mystic gems they guarded with sleight of hand and snuck through the portal).

Now what? There's no way down, there's no way anywhere, and nobody anywhere in the game has any sort of advice for what to do now that everything in the TEmple of Elemental Evil is dripping from the end of my sword.

Tis a very empty gameworld at the moment. I've only heard of the demon thing from the intro once, in passing, by the Vrock Guardian. Nothing and nobody else has ever alluded to it (and yes, I talked to everyone before executing them. I just refused to work for evil and hacked the evil priests down instead of doing their deeds. Lawful good and all.)

Am I missing something easy as to what to do now?

No. One of the priests alluded to it, I believe, but there is nobody left alive in the temple save for a Balor and a Hezrog in the nodes. I guess I'll have to go walk around and look for it some more... level 2 or 3, right?

Level 3. West side. The route is hidden. It's at the end of a hall, I believe.

That's where I thought it might be. There's a red flag on my map that defies identification over that way: It's the first place I was going to poke around when I got home.

If I get by the DDHELP errors. Must... get... internet... must... update drivers... stupid... pushy... vendors lobbing... unproven DirectX at people...

Yep, the Skull Orb is stepping stone to get to the final area.

Got it. Freaking follower had looted the chest it was in the first time through, taking all the scrolls (which I don't mind). The result was a deceptive 'gap' in the treasure chest, so I thought it was empty... it was only on re-exploring that I noticed it said 'not empty' and looked again.

Completed the game with my goody-goodys. Last battle was kind of irratating... the final boss is a mistress of crowd control tactics. No reloads, but a 5/6 party fatality.

I liked it. Playing as evil now and just butchered Homlet (except for the two priests in the temple. They cheat.). Odd, though, the first chaotic evil plot was broken UNTIL I became butcher of Homlet in my rep.
