Of course it makes a difference at which time you first play it, because in comparison to modern games it may not be as good to a new player than to them who played it a number of years ago.

Dude, I still play computer solitaire. Graphics are nice, but they aren't everything.

I got this combo jewel with Fallout 1 and 2 for $9.95.
Got it off of Interplay's website. http://www.interplay-store.com/
I noticed that they have a Fallout PS2 game. Anyone know anything about it? Release date and that type of stuff? I love console games.

Yes, I can tell you about the PS2 game - Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. I'll start with the short answer and follow with the rant which you can safely ignore.
Short answer: FO:BoS is an action title - a bit like Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance is to (the original) Baldurs Gate. Simpified hack-n-slash action, co-op multiplay, only related in a vague way, console game.
It's gold but Interplay had a dispute with their distributor (Vivendi) which is now sorted but has probably delayed the game to Jan 2004.

You may safely ignore this bit.
FO:BoS is an insult to Fallout fans. It's completely inconsistent in so many ways with the original (story, setting, critters etc) that it has alienated the fans. It has been prioritised (and a sequel my sources say) over Fallout 3. As Interplay sinks deeper into their financial quagmire (see today's news), the likelyhood of seeing FO3 (which is half completed) diminishes.
