ok i am running a 800 mghz amd with 384 sdram. i have a geforce2 GTS. im not really having many problems with the game..but for some reason the main section (with all the huts) of the new camp makes the game choppy. also one small place in the sleeper temple at the end. its really only those areas. the rest is fine. my res is at 1024x768 in the game. i cant stand anything else. my system passes the required standards. and its not like the graphics are that hardcore to begin with. just wondered if anyone mind know why. im getting a 1900+ xp amd with ddr memory soon anyway. ehe

Have you tried installing the patch. I understand that the patch addressed video problems

I have exactly same system...
And I have no problems. Only with fires (when torch is near, slowdowns are near).
I suppose, you have new video/sound drivers...

The problem is not your CPU, RAM, or Graphics Board.
The problem might be your Harddisk. So check whether DMA is enabled or not. And try to defrag your Harddisk for one time, in some cases this might help.

You could also make sure that you have no other programs running in the background. I found a program called enditall that works real well for closing down programs.
