hi everybody, long time no see. anyways, i was reading this interview (most of you have probobly read it too, but in case you haven't) and in the interview the developers said that we will learn a lot more about the Unnamed Hero (like why he was thrown in the barrier) and he will finally be named!
NOTE:
im not talking about the latest interview, it was a few months back

He was convicted for deserting during those orc wars. It's explained in the Gothic comic (which I don't own).

IMHO, that's sad. Not having a name was a cool non-plot element, but after this stupid nonsense dialogue with the undead dragon I already feared that the Piranhas would ruin this philosophical joke. |

In a later interview they said that the hero will never get a name, it's just the way Gothic should be played: with a nameless hero!

And then he goes killing his entire "family" including his father, mother etc. That's why the undead dragon says "you know who I am", he's the hero's father!
