What do you think of the US Army becoming a games creator and publisher? They've created a game called 'America's Army' using an advanced Unreal engine. It's a FPS and you can download specific, realistic missions for free! New missions (based on reality) will be added every now and then. For those without broadband... you can write in for the free CD, though I'm not sure if you'll have to pay Postage&packaging.
All this is the Amry's new drive at recruitment. Clever? What do you think. Will you get the game?

For some reason I d/l it months ago when it was first released but never installed it. I eventually deleted it. Therefore I am somewhat confused by the poll. I did d/l it but I would never play it...hmmm

That's the game where you must register with the US Army to play on a server, right?
No way. I'm not going to play it because I'm not going to give governmental types (no matter where they're from) a license to snoop around my HDD. They're doing it anyway, true, but that's okay with me as long as I don't know about it  .

Since I´m not that fond of semi-realistic soldier-simulations, I will probably not play it. However, I did like Ghost Recon in LAN, so there´s allways a posibility...

How long has it been out? I guess they won't post me a copy either... being non American n' all that. 
Really? You have to log on in order to play it? There's no offline mode? Hmmmm.

Very clever. Why don't they publish their operational manuals while they're at it? Perhaps they should ship it for free too, as long as it's going to a cave in Afganistan.

no thanks. i am not paranoid & i don't think the government is out to break into my HD via a video game. nor do i think that this sort of recruitment tool will somehow trick me into joining the military. i just don't have any interest in this type of game. so, here is one person who won't paly it simply because this isn't "my" type of computer game.

Well, I'm paranoid. I don't want to log in on a foreign governmental server. I wouldn't log in on a German governmental game server either. I am, however, interested in these games and play them whenever i get the chance... it's just... I mean... there's another thing I don't like about AA, you can only play Army here while your online opponents - who also play Army - will appear as Terrorists on your screen, and vice versa. Naw, sorry, I want to be able to choose which side I'm playing in multiplayer.

Hehe. To be true, I rarely play terrorists (especially since I prefer the WWII scenario to modern warfare and thus DoD to CS) - if I have to play CS I usually dress up as a Navy SEAL or GIGN, but... I WANT TO HAVE THE CHOICE!
