Lost and lazy?

O.K. I have been trapped in RL and finally got to basicly start over today. Loved the little trips to sell odds and ends here and there. Checked out the job markets and all the stores in AP and finally got to the second set mission to pick up the Doctor Ton. Is there an East gate in the Hebron Neb sector or am I going to go there tomarrow and waste my time. I didn't check out the whole sector, but I didn't see it on the sector map. Am I missing something or just didn't go far enough. Thanks for help. I am so far behind it is sad, but I do like this game.

Yes, HN has an East gate, but some gates are side on and thus quite easy to miss. I know I've had to switch to external view a few times to find gates the first time. There are full maps available if you want/need them.

Thanks, I'll look today. I have the map Dte posted to download, but it doesn't show the gates. Is there another one with gates marked?

Not to my knowledge. They are all in basically the same place on your sector map, so aim for there.

The map dte posted shows the gates as gaps in the lines (I just looked *grin*). It took me a little while to figure out that I could visually locate a gate, but not have it show up on my sector map until after I'd gotten close enough for my scanners to pick it up.

You just have to drive using the sector map to dictate direction. BTW - the gates are always in the same places relative to the center of the map (if they exist at all).

Thanks Lintra. That solves my problem then. I thought I saw one out the back view one time, but it was not on my sector map. I just wasn't close enough for scanners.

Once you have a ship that can mount size M extensions I'd suggest investing in a Triplex scanner, available from your friendly neighborhood Boron equipment deck. It lets you scan the entire sector by the time you reach the 'center'.

Thanks Xen, I have to add that to my top five. Can you transfer computer upgrades that you buy? Like the best buy software and this one? Just curious.

You can. It's no different than transferring cargo... both ships have to be docked at the same station, hit L for landed ships, select the other ship in the station and hit enter, and hit x for freight eXchange. Extensions are listed below the main cargo... and 'current ship' is the ship Julian is in.

Landed ships!! THATS how I did it before!!!

Thanks Xen. Back when I was playing this game, I'd been beating my head out trying to figure out how I'd done that before.

You can also access the other ship's control menu via the property screen.
