In the valley of the Dark Lords, how do I get past those damn oblesks to get to the sword?

If you found the datapad, it hints that the obelisk reacts violently to fire. So, "give" it a plasma grenade. Boom!

but the grenades dont go off. how do I do it?

Use the obelisk like a container. Give it a plasma grenade, then close it. It should explode.
