Won't be U.S. and U.K. version the same?

Both versions are still in same language the only diference is that U.K. version of the add-on will be released in Europe only, while there was an official US Gothic 2 version but there is no word about releasing the add-on in U.S.

so the answer is, yes, because both versions (UK and US) are the same.

UK version is 1.31, US version is 1.32, but I have no idea about the differences between the two, as I have only UK version. I suppose it's mostly cosmetic changes, i.e. written and spoken text/dialogue adjustment.

As for installing the UK add-on version - first there has to be one such released, after that.. Depends. If the add-on installer will do version check and US version is allowed, then you can, if not, you'll need at least UK executable. But, too early yet to say, because there is no UK add-on released yet.

I know that the English version of the eddon wasn't released yet, I mean when it will be released.
There is a difference between the U.S version and the U.S version, it’s a bit different, there are a few different bugs and the dialogs aren’t always exactly the same...

Anyway, I have the U.K version of Gothic 2, and my friend has the U.S version, one day the Cd 2 got ruined ( ) and i now want to install gothic 2 in my computer again, my friend suggested he will give me his Cd2 but I’m not sure if it will work with my Cds...

Do you think it will work?

most likely not probably cos they both are different in many ways 1) the game is compressed differently i mean if there are some bug fixes and all those then there will be most likely different sizes and the compression will be different , secondly i think the CD labels or the installer gonna recognize that the other cd isnt the same.

I would not use the word "soon" when speaking about the official english add-on In general, the word "soon" means that, soon, however, as for the add-on, it's not even totally sure whether they published actually will do it. They have said that most likely, if it ever will be released, it will be for UK only as english speaking country. Note the words "most likely", "if ever" and such - basically, no one can say that they'll release the add-on in english "soon"

In "future", yeah, but "soon" - nope, can't say that yet

Hi there. Here are some FACTS, not bull. You CAN install the German add-on over the US version 1.32. YES.

Ask Elkston? here. He made a post. He had the US version and he installed it just fine.

I've seen both versions and except for some really small stuff, they are the same. The EXE is the 'same'. When you try to install something it may not like the registry version number being "US" and "1.32" but it does not matter. It will install at any rate.

The add-on is never going to be released due to Atari being an asshole.

Go buy the German add-on and have have fun with the sub-title patch.
