very old map ???

I found this map but i realy don't know what is the mining of the sings . I've search all the area around the piramid but i didn't find anithyng.

theres a cave behind that pyramid
there youll find a leatherbag (lederbeutel) if you open it youll find a very cool ring +10 armor to everything and the golems (who were sleeping) will wake up hope this helps

I was also wondering about the meaning of this old map. You don't really need the old map to locate the pyramid and the cave with it goodies. Also, there is a cross mark on the old map and when you stand there it is not the location of the cave. I actually tried to dig at this point but didn't get anything.
