OK, so I tried Project Entropia and it's OK, except you have to spend money just to get a weapon. So I put that on the back burner... I found Planeshift, and it looks like it has potential - but there's nothing to do there yet. I'm keeping my eye on Horizons - I've been hearing that it will not have monthly fees (anyone know if that's really true?) All I'm looking for is a 3D - NOT 2D, 3D ISO or MUD FREE (completely free - no trial, demo, sharware, etc.) MMORPG where I can go, hang out, and maybe have a bit of an area to explore. As much of a recluse and a loner as I am (I love Morrowind and it looks like I'll love Gothic too if that gives you any clue) sometimes it'd be nice to go an hangout with peolple for a little bit - in the form of a Wood Elf or perhaps a Dwarve 
Anyone know of any free 3D MMORPGs?

there is a fee for Horizons. Its will probually be $13/month.
why dont you just spend the money on a good game? |

Know what I love about it though? You can always end up with people asking questions then on your response you can get a different reactin everytime. Try it sometime and see it's neat. |

All I can say is you'd think the folks here would know every RPG out there and be able to provide a list of the free ones. It's a simple request, and it would be a nice thing to have.
Now Kiff... I'm not sure I understand what you mean?

They have about 5 games listed there, and a bunch of off-topic discussion about how there can't be any good MMORPGs blah blah blah. I'm looking at the upper-right corner of my screen and what do I see? Screenshots from RPGs I've never even heard of! Surely some of these are free MMORPGs!
Please list all the free 3D MMORPGs you know about here! I'll finish up my little list and post it here too -

well if your going to be rude about it... do it yourself ... go to games database, on the site navigation and look up free mmorpgs to your hearts content...

I came in here with a very simple, and clearly outlined request. Since then this thread has recieved no helpful posts, and I have only been attacked if not directly then subtlety. If I sound rude it is because that is the response one would have in my posistion, and I think I've been remarkably restrained (for me) in this matter.
I do appreciate the info about the game database, and will be using it to search, but I would still like to see a list here, and only a list, of any free 3D MMORPGs that anyone may know about.
That's all I'm asking for, and I'm pretty sure I've been very polite and patient about it -

This game is supposed to be free, but I don't know how much longer that will be the case. I cannot see how a game can be downloaded and played for free. There is 2 different player types though (extras for those who pay)

but you cant expect us to all be at your beckon ' call most of us have better things to do than type a list of free mmorpgs. but yeah you did come across as rude because it was almost like you demanded our help... its a priviledge to have such an intuitive and resourcful website and forum that will help you out ... not a right

Now, I don't want to come out rude, and I don't want you to get upset. Most people here are always willing to offer suggestions when someone asks for it. But quite honestly, what you asked for does not have much of an answer, and I think that by now it should be obvious. You were pointed to another thread that had pretty much the same subject as yours, and you rightfully saw that it derived (much like this one is right now). Shouldn't that tell you something? I myself have nothing to recommend in that category. The lack of answers you experienced is probably due to the fact that no one really has anything to suggest either. Maybe someday someone will, and your thread will be answered.
When I don't have anything to suggest, I don't post... It's not an attack on the person that asked the question, and that person shouldn't feel that they are being ignored. We just don't have an appropriate answer. Don't take it out on us for having no appropriate answer to provide you.

About a month ago, AC2 was advertised as free. Thats after three seperate mail in rebates.
And...most every good MMORPG out there now will give you that one months free trial, but you might have to buy the game at a store.
I've heard you can also download AC2 and play it free for a month, Lineage was another one, but it's 2D, and Shadowbane is trying to work out download and a month for free dealy'o. So there you go Joe, dont' you know...
But like mentioned...most free/downloaded MMO's out there are 2D, but that doesn't make them bad games. |
